APS President, Shane Desselle, moderates a panel of GOP state legislators from around the nation who convened in Napa to discuss the future of healthcare. Following that, Desselle testified before the California Assembly to testify on behalf of AB 1374 (Waldron) to change evaluation of health services from cost to value and using a longer term window.

​Desselle and (lead) author, Ken C. Hohmeier were the recipients of the Wiederholt Prize 2021 for the 'Best Paper' published in the Journal of the American Pharmacists Association (APhA). Wiederholt Prize for Best Published Paper Award For Economic, Social And Administrative Sciences (ESAS) 2021The paper was funded by The National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) titled “Exploring the implementation of a novel optimizing care model in the community pharmacy setting”.

​​Desselle is incredibly proud and happy to have been ​​named 1 of 3 winners of the international 2021 Helen Clark-JoPPP Award for Pharmaceutical Policy and Practice Research! The award, named after a former PM of New Zealand & U.N. administrator who advanced health and global development, is given to those who have made substantial contributions to advance pharmaceutical practice and policy, worldwide.
